Artist Profile
Nathan Cochran is an accomplished Electronic Musician, Producer and Photographer. His audio work explores sonic placemaking, often augmenting and creating environments for sound to exist in or around. Combing field recording, acoustic instrumentation and vintage synthesizers he develops complex narratives and dense sonic compositions establishing a time, place or scene. As an electronic musician, Nathan has provided tour support for numerous international artists, performing across the United States including Miami's well known iiiPoints Festival, Priceless Music Festival in California and was a finalist in Bleep.com's Filtered contest for emerging artists juried by Warp records. His accomplishments in the Florida electronic music scene have been recognized in Creative Loafing's Best of the Bay Awards. In addition to sound, Nathan has been working on an extended photographic project capturing images of Florida, realized through a continuous cultivation of stillness and time spent observing local landscapes encompassing both the built environment and the natural. Similar to his sound explorations, his photographic work is documentary with no fictional additions, preserving Florida's landscapes spanning the ordinary, the curious, the quiet and the absurd.
